- A blessing of God – Numbers 21.5-9
- The people complain.
- God uses serpents to show the seriousness of sin.
- The people repent & God offers mercy.
- A tool for obedience – Numbers 21.8-9; John 3.14-16
- If the people act in faith, they were saved.
- In the same way, if people believe in Jesus, they can be saved – John 3.14-16
- Made into an idol – 2 Kings 18.1-4
- The people were burning incense to it.
- Too much value was placed on this item that was originally used for good.
- Called Nehushtan, a piece of bronze – 2 Kings 18.4
- More of a hinderance than a help.
- Anything can become “nehushtan” if we trust/value it too highly.
- A blessing of God – Numbers 21.5-9
- Money can be “Nehushtan”
