Ingredients of Salvation - God's Part

If you are baking, you need every ingredient in the recipe. Quantities of some ingredients are far more than others, but if you take out any single one of them, you will not have the desired result. If you desire to be saved, “ingredients” like baptism, obedience, endurance, etc. may be minor ingredients, but are still necessary.

    1. God
      • 1 Timothy 4:10 For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.
      • Isaiah 12:2 "Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the LORD GOD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation."

    2. Christ
      • Matthew 1:21 "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."
      • 1 Timothy 1:15 It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all.
      • Hebrews 5:8-9 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.  (9)  And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation.

    3. Holy Spirit
      • Ephesians 1:13-14 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, (14) who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory.
      • Ephesians 4:30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

    1. God's Love
      • John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

    1. God’s Mercy
      • Titus 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit
    1. God’s Grace
      • Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; (9) not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
      • Acts 15:11 "But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are."

    2. Christ's life
      • Romans 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

    3. The Blood of Jesus
      • 1 John 1:7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
      • Romans 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
      • Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.

    1. The Gospel
      • 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, (2) by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
      • Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
      • James 1:21 Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
